Lecture Report 1

In the first lecture, we need to write a report which contains at least 300 words to descript the character that we choose.

  The character that I have chosen is SpongeBob SquarePants also known as SpongeBob. SpongeBob SquarePants looks like a sponge as its name suggests and it is an American animated comedy television series created by marine science educator and animator Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is born on 14/7/1986 and he is living in a pineapple-shaped house with his pet snail named Gary in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom.

  Moreover, he is working as a chef in a burger shop named Krusty Krab and his boss is Eugene Krabs also known as Mr. Krabs who is very loved money. He is also learning to drive in Mrs. Puff's Boating school but the car in their world is a boat so actually, they are driving the boat named boatmobile. Other than that, SpongeBob also has many friends such as Squidward Tentacles, Sandy Cheeks, Sheldon J.Plankton, Eugens H.Krabs (His boss), and his best friend Patrick Star (also his neighbour). In addition, Fishing for jellyfish and practicing karate with his friend Sandy Cheeks is always his hobbies.

  Here are some reasons why I choose SpongeBob SquarePants. Firstly, because this cartoon comedy is extremely famous when it come out in 1999, so, I follow the majority to watch this cartoon and I have started becoming more and more interested in it. Besides that, he is a very cheerful, a little bit naive, and, helpful person. He always puts a smile on people's faces and helps them in any way he can when they are in trouble. Besides its character settings, the style that which they draw this character, voice, etc. is very attractive to me. Furthermore, I like its storyline very much, especially while he was with his another neighbour Squidward Tentacles, it is like a diary of his life. The most vital reason that I choose it is that I am really enjoying and relaxing while watching it. In a nutshell, I strongly suggest others watch it because it has a lot of elements attracting me so I want to share it with others.

Lecture Report 2

We have been given a web article as attached and pick on the scene from any screen media that utilizes chiaroscuro lighting. After that write a short report with a minimum of 500 words about how the lighting in the movie impacted and accentuated the importance of the particular scene in the narrative.

Scene Explanation:

  This picture shows the main character whose named Eran Yeager becoming the titan named Attack on Titan. As we can see, this image shows many people standing on the two sides of the rooftop and the Attack on Titan is standing in the middle and the light comes from bottom to top so I think the author wants to focus on the titan. We can also clearly see that the author has darkened some areas to make the whole image more three-dimensional. Moreover, the next obvious point is that there is a lot of steam emanating from around the Attack on Titan, and that steam is also very much shadowed to make it more three-dimensional.

  We can also find some other details in the Attack on Titan. Firstly, the author has used a lot of shadows on the Titan's body to make his abs, pectoral muscles, and arm muscles look very strong. Another point is his mouth, which makes his mouth look so deep that it feels like it could eat several humans in one bite. The last thing is the detail on his face, his nose, ears, eyes and the shadows under his hair are all beautifully done, especially the eyes, if you stare at his eyes you will feel very scary, this is because the author has made the shadows around his eye very deep, making him look very sharp and very fierce.

Storyline:

 The first episode of Attack on Titan is republished on 7/4/2013. Attack on Titan is set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous walls that protect them from Titans, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour humans seemingly without reason. The story centers around Eren Jaeger and his childhood friends Mikasa Ackermann and Armin Arlelt whose lives are changed forever after the appearance of a Colossal Titan, which brings about the destruction of their hometown and the death of Eren's mother. Vowing revenge and reclaiming the world from the Titans, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin join the Scout Regiment, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the Walls.

  It was only later that it was discovered that the protagonist could also transform into a titan. Later on, the protagonist decides to destroy the world by unleashing his unique skill, "The Rumbling", in order to keep the people inside the walls alive, so that they can live in peace.

Using the best idea I have chosen from exercise one to make a playing card. This exercise also uses Adobe Illustrator to make it.

Reflection

Experience

In this lecture report, I have learned a lot of things such as knowing the character details, observing the detail of an image, and learning how to take a good picture.

Observation

I have observed many views while I am doing the lecture report 3. I am really happy and relaxed while doing that report because i can take many different and beautiful picture.

Findings

I found that I still cannot use Adobe Illustrator smartly so I have to practice more on it.
